August 13 – August 15 Event Navigation Join Immunize Oregon and
Join Immunize Oregon and over 400 colleagues at the Northwest Immunization Conference (NWIC). The NWIC is a three-day event providing an opportunity to learn the latest information on immunizations and vaccine issues impacting health care practices. Curriculum is designed for a diverse field of health care professionals, including immunization providers, public health professionals, epidemiologists, students of nursing and medical professions, and program managers seeking a comprehensive knowledge of immunizations.
The NWIC kicks off with an invigorating day of nationally recognized speakers discussing strategies to address vaccine hesitancy and further the discussion around immunizations in the community. The opening day includes educational workshops, clinical skills building, and opportunities to network and learn from fellow immunization stakeholders.
Day two and three of the NWIC feature a comprehensive lecture course of CDC experts reviewing the Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-preventable Disease (Pink Book). Each Pink Book vaccine chapter is covered in depth and discussed in terms of pathogen characteristics, epidemiology and infection trends, and detailed discussion of the recommended prevention and immunization strategies for each disease.
