ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

This webinar is open to providers who would like to use the Project ImPACT intervention with children with ASD and related disorders. Project ImPACT is recognized as one of the most effective coaching programs for parents of young children (up to age 6) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related social communication delays. Attendees will learn how to use the Project ImPACT Second Edition curriculum to teach parents of children with autism to promote social communication during daily routines and activities. Additional information regarding Project ImPACT via telehealth and research on use of Project ImPACT via telehealth has been added this workshop. Attendees will be able to share video of their direct in-person or telehealth sessions for feedback during the role play sessions if they choose.

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

The workshop will be conducted by Anna Dvortcsak MS, CCC-SLP and Denice Edeal, MS CCC-SLP.

Anna Dvortcsak co-developed and authored Teaching Social Communication to Children with Autism (Project ImPACT), an internationally-recognized parent training curriculum for children with ASD. She provides consulting, parent training and individual speech and language services to families and children with autism. Anna has experience conducting research on the efficacy of treatment methodologies for children with ASD, presenting information on treatments for children with autism, and training professionals to use Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions. She has presented her findings at professional conferences and in peer-review articles and book chapters.

Denice Edeal is a speech and language pathologist with extensive training in the areas of Autism, AAC, and teletherapy and has completed and published research in the area of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She has worked in many settings including hospitals, schools, and private practice. Denice has been working with Anna Dvortcsak and the Project ImPACT program since 2011. Denice is a certified ImPACT trainer and has provided in-home services using Project ImPACT to many families in the Portland area. She is currently an adjunct professor at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where she teaches the graduate level course in Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Severe Disabilities.
