Autism Center of Excellence (COE) Certification Training – Spokane

COE Certification allows primary care providers to diagnose autism spectrum disorder for pediatric patients with Medicaid

Presenters:

• Gary Stobbe, MD:  Attending Neurologist, Seattle Children’s Autism Center; Director, UW Medicine Adult Autism Clinic
• Jim Mancini, MS, CCC-SLP:  Speech-Language Pathologist, Seattle Children’s Autism Center
• Jennifer Gerdts, PhD: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Director, Clinical Training Unit, UW LEND Program
• Dana Stevens ABD, BCBA, LBA, Director, Clinical Services. Northwest Autism Center

NOTE:  You must attend ALL day Friday and Saturday MORNING to obtain certification

Day 1: Friday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (snacks and lunch provided)

Friday will focus on current research and thinking regarding the evaluation, treatment and continuing care for individuals with ASD throughout the life span including:

• Early signs and screening
• Differential diagnosis and comorbid diagnoses
• Presentation across the autism spectrum and challenges with diagnosis
• Interdisciplinary evaluation process at the Seattle Children’s Autism Center
• Treatment options including accessing ABA
• Medication Management
• Updates on current research
• Discussion of current state of services in WA and obstacles to care

Day 2: Saturday – 8:00 am to NOON (snacks)

Saturday will focus on completion of Center of Excellence training for providers including:

• Documentation, billing codes and orders
• Q&A
• Completion of Center of Excellence training
