Printing Tips for the Medical Home website

How to print full Medical Home web pages without cutting off the right side of the page.

By default, most Internet browsers set their printing margins to 0.75" on the left and right side of the printout. If you print any of our web pages at this default setting, part of the right side of the webpage will be cut off. To print the full width of our pages, just use your page options to adjust the margins to 0.25" in both the left and right margins before printing. You can also try changing the orientation of the page to print in LANDSCAPE format.

How to print Medical Home webpage content without navigation bars and menus

If you'd like to print our webpage content but want to save your ink/laser cartridge by not printing the left side navigation bar or our banner at the top of the page, here's a quick and easy method by just using your mouse:

Let's say we just want to print information in the Physicians section -Sharing Sensitive News at http://www.medicalhome.org/physicians/share_badnews.cfm Using your mouse, place your cursor at the beginning of the first word, then while keeping your mouse button down, drag your mouse to the lower right of the text you want printed so that it highlights. Note example:

2. Next, use your Internet browser's controls to print only your selected text. For example, in Internet Explorer, go to the menu and press File, Print. In the Print options dialog menu that appears, in the "Print range" section, click the option called, "Selection" then press the Apply or Print button. It will print only your selected text and graphics (if graphics are adjacent to your text selection) and ignore everything else outside your selection.

Printing Tips: How to print and fold the Medical Home Brochure

1. Choose FILE > PRINT (note: print on Legal Size paper, sized 8.5" x 14")

2. Go to Printer Properties and choose "Two-sided (or Duplex) Printing"

3. To print on both sides with correct orientation, choose "Yes, Flip Up"

4. After printing, fold the page in half and then half again to form the brochure (see image below for panel numbers and where to fold):
